He makes a lot of good, common sense points. However he is dead wrong about the "myth of female orgasm".

I haven't yet watched the video (wife is glued to FOX News at the moment, she's about to go fix some waffles - bought a new waffle maker - and bacon for breakfast, I'll watch it then).

I remember, as an elementary school kid, reading a book with several stories about WW1. I remember reading about Alvin York and how he dropped a squad of German infantry soldiers and their Lt. with one shot each from his 1911 with hardball.

Many years later I read about another young soldier, Thomas Baker, on the island of Saipan. He did not survive his encounter with the enemy infantry that morning. He was wounded (twice already that morning) and told his squad mates to leave him sitting against a tree with a 1911 while they went down the trail with the rest of the wounded to get more ammo and more men and then come back to get him. When they got back he was dead. Around him laid eight Japanese soldiers, dropped by Sgt. Baker and his 1911.

Yeah, everyone says hardball is no good.

Now days, we constantly read about LEOs shooting people 4, 5, 10 times or so to stop them. Those new fangled small caliber hollow points surely are effective.

Yes, I carry either a CZ 75 Compact in 9MM or a CZ P07 in .40 S&W these days. Not because I worry about my 1911/.45 acp being ineffective, but because I'm not going to cry over scratches, gouges, rust (none yet on the CZ's) from constantly carrying in the heat/humidity down here whether at home or on the road.

I also get a kick out of all the "scientific" testing they do these days. When the .45 acp was developed they did a lot of real world testing. Shot large living animals to see how long it took to put them down vs. bullet placement. Shot cadavers obtained from the morgues to determine what kind of damage the bullets did when shot into specific parts of the body.

Penetration? I've always read that hardball was bad to overpenetrate but this guy says one of the issues is lack of penetration in bodies? I know about the penetration issues with cars. That's why we have the .38 Super (don't own one of those).

Opinions. I do pay attention to some people's opinion.

Well, I'm certainly not giving up my .45's (or my other "myths").

I still hold a nostalgic fondness for my 1911 45 a.c.p. It's a fun gun to shoot and still deadly!

BUT if given a choice of four guns on the table to choose from, (random brand, say all Springfield XD's) for defense in: 9mm,40,357sig and a 1911 in 45acp.

The 1911 would be the last of the pick, for all the factors mentioned above.
