I think it was last summer. Sharon and our grandson picked raspberries today. :!:

No blackberries here, but I munch a handful of raspberries in the back yard every day, July through October. :D

A long time. The blackberries along my fence line out back are just nasty. The rasberries are nice and sweet but are all gone now.

I used to take the boys out back of my in-laws house in a trailer behind my 3 wheeler (had to use the old Kawasaki 200 KLT B1, no trailer hitch on the Honda 300X). I'd pick handfulls (my handful) and give to the boys. It would fill up both hands (held together) and they'd raise their hands up to their faces and bury their face in their hands till the blackberries were gone.

Then I'd load them up and take them back to the house so their mommas could wash their hands/faces. Sad, the boys don't remember that, but their mommas remember having to wash them off.

Oh, they won't be ripe at home (western Greenbrier County, WV) for another couple of weeks. Altitude you know. They're subject to light frosts beginning in a couple/three weeks and heavier ones by the middle of September. What dad would all a "killing" frost as it ends the gardens, the grapevines (grapes may or may not be ripe by then).
